The Lovu guide

Connection, on your family’s terms

A personal avatar does not need to be open to everyone. You choose who can connect, and different family members can take part in their own time. Clear permissions help keep the experience personal.

Invite the people you choose

The owner grants avatar access to selected accounts. A new account starts with none, so joining Lovu does not automatically let someone call your family’s avatar. Access is deliberate, not assumed from a family relationship.

Let each person find their own pace

One relative may welcome a conversation; another may prefer not to try. Explain that the avatar is AI and let them decide without pressure. A shared family history does not mean everyone will experience it the same way.

A recorded-call link is different from access

If a call was recorded, its temporary link lets someone watch that recording, not call the avatar. The link expires seven days after it is first copied or opened. Anyone holding it can forward or download the video while it works; expiry cannot take back a saved copy.

Write down wishes for the future

Consent choices can name representatives and beneficiaries and set boundaries for future access. Discuss who may connect, who may change permissions and whether the avatar should remain available. Do not rely on sharing a password or assuming control transfers to a relative.
