Terms of Service

These terms describe the agreement between you and Lovu when you use our service. By creating an account or using Lovu, you agree to these terms. We've written them in plain language so you can understand what to expect.

What Lovu provides

Lovu helps families preserve voices, stories, and personality through personal AI avatars. You can speak with an avatar by telephone or video, save recordings, create Life Videos, and — with permission — explore a legacy avatar. Calls use a prepaid balance charged by the minute.

Consent and permission

Voices are created only through the required written-consent process. Creating an avatar of someone who has passed away requires us to review the available permissions and eligibility. Being a family member does not by itself authorize voice cloning. When consent is uncertain, avatar creation is paused for appropriate review. Participation should always follow the person's comfort, wishes, and ability to consent.

AI representation

Lovu creates an AI representation. It does not bring someone back or reproduce their consciousness. An avatar may reflect parts of a person's voice and personality, but it is not the person and may sometimes make mistakes. Original recordings are always distinguished from AI-generated conversations. An avatar's generated stories are not verified memories and should not be presented to someone with dementia as though they were a real person.

Your responsibilities

• You agree to provide accurate information and to share recordings only with the necessary permission.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
• You agree not to misuse the service, misrepresent an avatar as a real person, or share content that harms others.

Limitations

Lovu is provided "as is." We work carefully to shape voices and provide a meaningful experience, but we cannot guarantee that an avatar will be free of errors or perfectly reflect every detail of a person. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amounts you have paid for the service.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we do, we'll make the current version available on this page.
