Our Story
About Lovu
A note from Josh
Lovu began with a phone call I wish I could have made a thousand more times.
Alzheimer's came into our family slowly, the way it usually does. A name forgotten here, a story told twice there. Over time, the person we had always known began to feel a little further away. The voice was the same, but the memories that made it theirs were slipping.
I wanted to hold on. Not just to the big stories, but to the small ones: the way they laughed, the advice they gave without thinking, the particular warmth in their voice when they asked how you were doing. Those were the things that made them them, and I didn't want them to disappear.
That's why I built Lovu. It's a place where families can preserve a voice, record stories in their own words, and keep a connection alive, not as a replacement for the person, but as a way to hold what they shared a little closer.
Every family's story is different, and every journey with memory loss is its own. What I hope Lovu can offer is simple: a way to listen again, to hear a familiar voice, and to feel the warmth of someone you love, even when the distance feels greater than it should.

Why Lovu exists
When Alzheimer's or dementia enters a family, the loss is gradual. Memories fade, stories blur together, and the voice that always carried them becomes quieter. Families find themselves wishing they had recorded more, asked more questions, or simply listened a little longer.
Lovu was created so you don't have to wish you had. By capturing a voice, stories, and the personality behind them, families can keep a piece of what makes someone who they are, preserved with care, and shared with the people they love.
It's not about replacing anyone. It's about keeping connection possible, even as memory changes. It's about making sure the stories, the laughter, and the love are still there to come back to.
Our commitment to your family
- Every voice and recording is created with the person's permission and their comfort first.
- Original recordings are always preserved as the true record of what someone actually said.
- We move at your pace. There is never pressure to do more than feels right.
- Your family's stories and memories are held with care, never shared without your say.
We'd love to hear your story
If you're thinking about preserving a voice or a story, we're here to talk it through, gently, and with no pressure. Every family's situation is different, and this is a conversation, not a sales pitch.
