Lovu helps families preserve voices, stories, and connection. We understand that the recordings, photographs, and conversations you share are deeply personal. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and details you share during consultation or setup.
• Recordings and transcripts: voice recordings, call recordings, and conversation transcripts you or your family create or share with permission.
• Consent documents: signed consent forms and addenda that authorize the creation and use of an avatar.
• Life Videos: video recordings you choose to save and share with selected family members.
• Usage and billing: call durations, prepaid balance, and transaction records needed to operate the service.

How we use your information

We use your information to create and maintain AI avatars, operate telephone and video calling, store and replay recordings, share Life Videos with the family members you choose, and provide support. We do not sell your personal information or recordings to third parties.

Who can access it

Each family's recordings, transcripts, and Life Videos are private to that family. Access is restricted to the people you authorize. Creating an avatar of someone who has passed away requires us to review the available permissions and eligibility before proceeding.

Data retention

Your recordings and data are kept for as long as your account is active and needed to provide the service. Private conversations, recordings, and consent documents are not cached for offline access. You can request deletion of your data at any time — see our Data Deletion page for details.

AI representation

Lovu creates an AI representation from recordings and information shared with permission. It can reflect aspects of a person's voice and personality, but it is not the person themselves and may sometimes get things wrong. Original recordings are always kept separate from AI-generated conversations and are never presented as the same thing.
